Winter Gardening Workshop

Lucy Byrne, the Farm’s Horticultural Trainer offers the first of a series of seasonal workshops for gardeners of all levels and abilities.

The Winter Gardening Workshop will cover: Dividing perennials, root & hardwood cuttings, making your own potting/seed compost, making willow wigwam plant supports and a seed swap

Further details: Materials and tools provided; take home potted-on divisions and willow wigwam plant support; fact sheets on top tips for the season; answers to gardening queries such as how to prune apple trees / fruit bushes. Bring seeds to swap.

£20 per person with proceeds supporting the Farm’s Horticultural Training Unit – providing gardening training and practical activities for adults with learning difficulties.

Donate the Deck

For just £25, you can create a design for our decking and leave a local legacy! Simply choose a family emblem, a funky doodle, a small sketch or the name of someone special which will be inscribed onto the cafe decking.

Through a series of events and fundraising campaigns we aim to raise £7000 to build this wonderful decking area with outdoor seating overlooking our amazing playground, a stainless steel slide and play tunnels for the kids. This area is essential in offering increased outdoor seating for visitors, with access for wheelchair and pushchair users (there is currently no suitable outdoor provision).

This decking will also enable the Farm’s cafe to expand their covers, allowing them to increase their income to reach their goal of becoming a sustainable business model that does not compromise on the quality of service, produce, taste, community or the environment. As a social enterprise, surplus profits are reinvested back into the Farm and the surrounding area through purchasing power and collaborative working.

What is more, it will be the platform for the new stainless steel slide – a much needed piece of equipment for all kids that like fun. With play ‘coves’ and lockable space for equipment under the platform, the decking will be the icing of the cake as far as our brand new playground is concerned.
