There aren’t many parts of the city where a dawn chorus walk is possible so this is a great opportunity to experience and celebrate what St Werburghs has to offer!
Ed Drewit is going to lead two walks over Narroways and down into Boiling Wells helping us to determine which species we are hearing as we go.

Evening Roost walk. SUNDAY 13th MAY 8.30pm
Ed is going to lead an evening chorus walk on Sun 13th May Starting at 8.30 pm for those who’d prefer not to have such an early start. The birds are not quite as noisy at this time as they can be in the morning but there should still be plenty of activity to see.

For those early birds who want to make the most of this we recommend the Dawn Chorus walk on Weds 16th May – this is a 5.30am start but its going to be worth it as this is when the birds are at their most active.

The cost of either walk is £5 and includes a cuppa once we get down to the Boiling Wells site. Places are limited so booking is essential. Please call Steph at the Farm on 0117 942 82 41 for more information or to reserve your place.

Our traditional May Day event is all set! …just a little later in May than is traditional!
This will be a lovely family event with May Pole dancing, live music and all the usual refreshments.

We are going to have a ‘Birds and Bees’ theme this year to celebrate having our very own hive on site and because Boiling Wells is a really special site bursting with bird life!
We’ll have a bee keeping expert on site to answer any questions you might have and to give an insight into the facinating lives of the UK’s honey bee’s.
We also hope to have representatives from Bristol’s ornithological group explaining how you can enjoy bird life in the city.
As well as some really excellent arts and crafts activities inspired by birds and bees we’ll also have a green woodwork demonstration and workshop from Jon Atwood of the Forest of Avon Project and some traditional may day crafts too.

Its a family event not to be missed!
